2019-2-1 The combustion syntheses of vanadium carbide, niobium carbide, and tantalum carbide were successfully reported. As the synthesis procedure, we used a magnesiothermic reduction of metal pentoxides in presence of the graphite during mechanical milling process. Ignition times were 10, 10 and 23 min for VC, NbC, and TaC, respectively.
